The Devine Exchange at the Cross:  Life is in the Blood

The life of the flesh is in the blood.  As a perfusionist this is an inevitable truth.  The extracorporeal support we provide operating the heart lung machine provides life.  The body or flesh is composed of living tissue that requires circulation of the blood to sustain life.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood (Leviticus 17:11)  and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

We are triune beings composed of a body (flesh), soul, and spirit.  We are a spirit being; we live in a physical body, and have a soul, which is our intellect (mind), will, and emotions.  And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul (Genesis 2:7).

We have this privileged opportunity to circulate blood and sustain life.  Jesus Christ is the way, truth, and the Life (John 14:6).  We all have life, however in Christ Jesus we may have an abundant life (John 10:10).  These are mere words, perceived foolishness, and an argument without the conviction of the Holy Spirit and Power of the Living God.

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18).

Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6).

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God (1Corinthians 2:5).

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13)

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him (Psalm 34:8).

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you (Matthew 7:7).

In Jesus Christ we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.  The divine exchange at the cross:  He bore our sin that we may have the righteousness of Christ (Ephesians 1:7).

The Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians (3:16)  That out of his glorious, unlimited resources he will give you the mighty inner strengthening of his Holy Spirit. And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love; and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God’s children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God himself.

The Precious blood of Jesus Christ has paid the price for all humanity and has restored the Kingdom of God within you. I pray the eyes of your heart be enlightened and that this mystery be revealed that is Christ in you, the hope of Glory
